Wash The House Co-op Guide

Divide washing, carrying, placement, room ownership, progress checks, and uncertain-item handoffs between friends in Wash The House.

Quick answer

Start with this

Give each player a room or task preference, name one handoff point for cross-room objects, and announce completed or uncertain work in short phrases. Use Wash, Carry & place, and Flexible as planning labels rather than official classes. The game supports cleaning with friends, but this guide does not invent a maximum party size.

Use player role suggestions, a room handoff checklist, communication rules, stuck-state help, and the task planner entry below. The role-division method does not claim official classes or a player cap.

Step by step

Follow the player route

  1. 1

    Choose room ownership

Give each player one area or a clear next destination so two people do not repeatedly work the same object.

  2. 2

    Add task preferences

Use Wash for washer-heavy work, Carry & place for item returns, and Flexible for whichever queue needs help.

  3. 3

    Create one handoff point

Place confirmed cross-room items together and name their destination instead of scattering them through hallways.

  4. 4

    Use short status calls

Say room, task, and state: Kitchen wash done; Office item uncertain; Great Room needs edge scan.

  5. 5

    Rebalance after each room

Move a Flexible player or rebuild the planner when effort totals or remaining task types become uneven.

How it works

Understand the decision behind the steps

Roles are communication shortcuts

Wash, Carry & place, Flexible, and room owner are not official character classes. They simply make responsibilities easy to say. A player can change roles whenever the remaining work changes. The point is to reduce duplicate actions and ambiguous handoffs, not to lock the group into a permanent team composition.

Handoffs need destinations

An object pile without labels creates a second mystery. When a player finds a likely cross-room item, say what it is and where it probably belongs, then leave it at the agreed handoff point. The receiving room owner confirms the placement and reports whether progress changed.

Progress checking is a real job

One player should periodically compare finished rooms, unresolved items, and missed-dirt reports. This can rotate between players and does not require a special ability. The task planner helps by showing per-player effort and first tasks without sending player names or notes away from the browser.

If stuck

Recover without restarting

Two players duplicate work

Restore room ownership or split Wash and Carry & place preferences, then announce any task change before switching.

One player has too much

Move a Flexible player to the higher-effort queue or rebuild the task planner after removing completed jobs.

Nobody owns uncertain items

Create one review list and assign a player to test destinations after obvious work is closed.

Avoid

Common mistakes

Silent role changes

A helpful switch can create duplicates when teammates do not know it happened.

Multiple handoff piles

Scattered uncertain items lose their destination context and are easy to repeat.

Assuming official class rules

The roles on this site are optional planning labels, not game-defined restrictions.
